(Vaughan) - Michael Di Biase is demanding to be declared mayor following what he calls "serious irregularities" at a Maple polling station.
In a statement issued yesterday afternoon, Mr. Di Biase alleges that during the electronic machine recount, granted by council last week, an envelope with a handwritten statement signed by voting observers was found inside a ballot box holding ballots from the Father John Kelly Catholic Elementary School polling station on Keele Street. The note allegedly said "the ballots and ballot boxes had been left unattended for most of the day and that the tabulator machine had broken down twice."
